Hiring: Chemical Engineer for stable manufacturing company in South Haven, MI

The chemical engineer will be supporting new, custom API manufacturing directed toward the identification, development, and commercialization of cGMP products. This person will help guide projects from the bench to pilot and potentially to commercial scales. Such programs can include multi-step kilo lab and pilot plant production of developmental products. The duration of these programs and tasks can be short-term (1 to 3 months) or mid-term (3 to 6 months). The kilo lab and pilot productions will involve working closely with R&D chemists, manufacturing, project engineers and other site support personnel.Scale-up activities typically involve preparing all required manufacturing documentation as well as collecting and interpreting data, writing reports, and development of detailed cost estimates. Other activities include process monitoring, identification and execution of safety and environmental improvements, troubleshooting, process reliability improvements, process validation, technology transfers and batch instruction creation.Job/Position Responsibilities:Lead new, custom API product introductions into a multipurpose cGMP facility, focusing on scale-up of lab preparations to pilot and/or full-scale campaigns.Perform process evaluation, development, scale-up, design, safety analysis, troubleshooting and startup support.Lead the manufacturing prep effort which includes creating process manuals, operating instructions, environmental and safety documentation.Provide technical oversight (Process and Equipment) during the manufacturing process while maintaining cGMP/site SOP compliance and interacting with approved business system applications.Interact with various on-site departments, customers, internal business management and plant management.Lead efforts in design, installation, and operation of new equipment.Develop and implement safety, quality, environmental and cost improvement programs plant-wide.REQUIREMENTS:[removed phone] years of applicable cGMP, specialty or custom chemical manufacturing experienceStrong leadership and problem solving skillsAbility to work independently with minimal directionAbility to manage multiple tasks in a team approach High Achiever / Self-starter / Strong Interpersonal SkillsAbility to balance individual and team responsibilities while supporting site and corporate initiativesHighly organized with excellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenDesired Qualifications:Preferred minimum of three (3) years of applicable experience in API manufacturing.Demonstrated strong chemical engineering knowledge, problem solving skills, troubleshooting and equipment qualificationSTRONG SALARY/BENEFITS/RELO PACKAGE AVAILABLE.PLEASE CONTACT ME WITH INTEREST.
